Start A Band (Step 2)

O.K. now on to step 2 of starting a band.

Do you want to start a band like this?

This type of band is cool, but not what we are after here.  Everybody likes a good video game.

This is the type of band we are trying to start here.

Ok. lets get to step 2 of starting your band.

Have you talked to your friends and family members that play music?

If not discuss with them the feelings you have about starting a band.

Get there feedback and tell them you are interested in starting a band and would like for them to join your band.

Hopefully you do know how to play an instrument or you wouldn’t be reading this yet.   If not then you may want to check out our other posts about How to play music.

Start A Band Step 2:

Looking For Band Members.

• First Check With Family & Friends. (These are the best band mates.  You are spending a lot of time around them anyway.)
• You Can Ask Around.  (schools,  restaurants, where you get your hair cut, etc.)
• Put Up Fliers.  (be cautious  where you put these & watch out putting phone #’s on them maybe try an email address for contact information.)
• Start A Rock Band’s very own musicians classifieds. (coming soon!)

Just line up one person at a time.  For example just look for a guitarists or drummer first and get them established then use that person to help on the decisions for other musicians.  They too may have contacts to other musicians.

Take your time on this part it is very important to get people with like minds and good attitudes.
