Having A Set Plan (The Band Plan)
Often bands and singers or songwriters don’t even get off the ground. Most of the time this is due to just not setting goals.
Not having a game plan is just not going to work. Not that every little thing that you or your band does has to be perfect but just be doing something. That is going to increase you chances 100% and is better than not knowing what to do next.
Did you know that just taking the time to write down your bands goals you are 10 times more likely to achieve the things you are trying to get done.
Only about 3 percent of people write down there long term goals. This stuff realy works. There has been lots and I mean lots of study’s on this over the years, also lots of books written on the subject.
Goal Achievement System for Musicians, Songwriters, and Music Business Professionals
Let me just give some tips for setting up your goals as a band.
1) Make sure everyone in the band has the same idea on where the band is going. (EVERYONE!)
2) You can change the bands goals as you go along. (Keep Flexible)
3) Don’t beat your selves up if it doesn’t go as planed. (just change the plan see rule #2)
4) Write down when something goes right. (Rocked the crowd last gig, the song is coming along great)
5) Set dates that you want things to happen. (do one now, your building your music business knowledge now)
6) Put the bands goal sheet up for everyone in the band to see. (Band Practice Room, Garage)
7) Just do something everyday to move your music forward, the goals you and the band (team) have set.
